Artinerary
FEATURED CREATIVES
Each week we will feature creatives from the DIRECTORY of CREATIVES to promote and share their work
(artists are selected at random, with each artist getting a turn).
TOP PICKS
Looking for something to do this weekend? Want to see something new? Need some inspiration?
Each month we will ask someone from Merseyside's art scene to select their TOP PICKS.
MAY'S TOP PICKS have been selected by Lucy Byrne. Lucy Byrne founded dot-art @dotartliverpool in 2006 and has grown it from an initial idea to an award winning, unique and multifaceted organisation which occupies a vital position in the Liverpool City Region’s cultural infrastructure, offering services to artists that cannot be accessed elsewhere and encouraging everyone, from schoolchildren to business people to the general public, to value, engage with and participate in visual art.
As well as supporting over 500 local visual artists to sell their work and develop their careers, dot-art has worked with over 10,000 children through their innovative dot-art Schools @dotartschoolsnw and Art Bytes programmes, delivers around 5000 hours of creative teaching to the general public annually, and is helping to develop the art market in the city through its own city centre gallery and the annual Liverpool Art Fair @lpoolartfair.
Lucy is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Director of The Culture Network LCR and sits on the Steering Group of SHIFT, the sustainability network for cultural organisations in the Liverpool City Region.
