Liverpool Artists' Network

Set up in 2015, Liverpool Artists’ Network is an artist-led initiative that connects visual artists, art organisations, art venues and art groups based in Merseyside.

Our meetings have been generously hosted by the Tate Liverpool, the Walker Art Gallery, Bluecoat, Metal, The Florrie, Does, Make North Docks, Output, Convenience Gallery, Liverpool Hope Creative Campus, John Moore University, Fact and The Ship and Mitre.

Liverpool Artists’ Network offers:

  • Networking meetings every 3 months.

  • A searchable DIRECTORY for artists and the general public consisting of art galleries, art groups, artist studios, exhibition and workshop venues, as well as many other services.

  • A DIRECTORY of CREATIVES, a searchable directory of visual art creatives based in Merseyside.

  • A Searchable ARTMAP of Merseyside, consisting of galleries, cafe galleries (if you want to get a coffee and see some art), studios and much more.

  • An Instagram account @LivArtNet for artists, where we share local art jobs and studio vacancies as well as local and national calls and opportunities.

  • Artinerary an Instagram account @Liv_Artinerary dedicated to sharing visual art exhibitions, events and workshops based in Merseyside.

Meetings

MEETINGS

Meetings run every 3 months and are informal and a great way to connect and meet other artists. They alternate between Network meetings, Slide Slams and Artist “Speed Dating”.

  • Network Meetings
Artists or anyone at all who wants to connect with artists are invited to speak about any project or idea they would like to share or are looking for people to collaborate on. Presentations are very informal and followed by a break and time for socialising.

  • Slide Slams
People are invited to give a slide presentation in our Slam Slide format of 10 slides each lasting 40 secs, automatically changing. This is followed by a break and time for socialising.

  • Artists’ "Speed Dating"
Following the traditional speed dating approach, Artists’ "Speed Dating" allows artists to meet and connect with other artists, with time limits and helpful prompts. The sessions include a break and time for socialising and to continue any conversations.

who we are

WHO ARE WE

Liverpool Artists’ Network was set up in 2015 by Josie Jenkins @josiejenkinsartist and Colette Lilley @colettelilley, both artists who worked in different studios and wanted to find a way to meet, connect and work with other artists in Liverpool. Josie and Colette have continued to run the network together and along the way with other artists and organisations who have played a vital role in supporting LAN by hosting us, encouraging artists to attend meetings, giving presentations and by helping with the administration of the previous website.
